The Cavan Monaghan Barn Quilt (CMBQT) trail offers an educational, interactive and enjoyable experience that celebrates the people, history, and culture of our Township. Driven by a team of passionate volunteers and support from the local community, the trail reflects our belief in the value and contribution of farm families, the importance of our historic roots and the creativity of our local craftspeople.
We're Building a Barn Quilt Trail in Cavan Monaghan - One Block at a Time
Driving through our township over the past year or leafing through the Millbrook Times, you have likely noticed some beautiful new art installations on local farms, businesses and properties. These “barn quilt blocks” allow local hosts to tell the story of their history, family, property and contribution to the community through a beautiful quilt block design.
Block designs are based on quilt patterns as well the vision of the property owner, and are developed with the support and creativity of local artists. The combined blocks create a trail across the township that offers drivers, cyclists or walkers an educational, interactive and enjoyable experience that celebrates of the people, history, and culture of Cavan Monaghan.
